Clients Find FYI Solutions' FormArtist Surveys 'Fun' to Fill-in
“FormArtist has given us a means of quickly and easily creating professional looking surveys that are pleasant and even fun to interact with for our clients and consultants.”
Dan Chiariello, Solutions Manager and Director of Marketing, FYI Technology Solutions
Situation
FYI Technology Solutions is a regional business and technology solution provider, located in the New York metropolitan area. Incorporated in 1984, FYI now employs around a hundred people, and focuses on four primary business objectives: servicing the business-driven technology needs of clients, improving business and operational processes of companies so they maintain a competitive advantage, delivering mission critical project solutions and strategic staffing, and making a meaningful contribution to the vision and strategy of their clients.
Their project management office and business analysts recognized the need for survey software to provide another vehicle for interacting with clients. In addition, their marketing team wanted to use surveys as a means of communicating internally with staff. They were looking for a tool that was simple to use, web-based, and one that would get people's attention and make them want to interact with it. Prior to purchasing FormArtist, there was no such application in place, and in the past, they had relied on e-mails to gather data.
Solution
FYI searched the internet to identify appropriate solutions, and chose the FormArtist Presto Edition from Quask as the price and functionality was commensurate with their needs and requirements. The presentation of the product was also far better than that of other vendors they considered.
FYI currently uses FormArtist in two main areas of the business. First, the Solutions area of the business uses FormArtist to engage their project business users. Often, clients ask them to survey their business user community to solicit their input and engagement on projects involving application development or business intelligence. They have found that the surveys provided by FormArtist are an unobtrusive and provocative way to engage them in the project. Second, their marketing department is using FormArtist to solicit information from their Consultant base of nearly 500 associates, and they find FormArtist to be a simple and effective tool for accomplishing this.
Says Dan, “ FormArtist is fun, powerful, and cost-effective. It has helped our firm achieve a level of professionalism and distinction that our clients appreciate and benefit from.”
Implementation
Dan Chiariello was in charge of introducing FormArtist into FYI, and it took them about 3 weeks to get up and running, though most of that time was spent resolving configuration settings on their web servers.
During this period, they utilized Quask's Customer Support service, and as Dan explains, “Quask's attention to our firm was outstanding. They were patient, informative, and were committed to finding a solution for us. Also, training wasn't an issue as the software's so intuitive that once it's loaded, it runs itself!”
Speaking further on the service provided by Quask, Dan says, “I have found Quask to be a company that cares about its clients and is committed to producing a good product that helps its clients to be successful, regardless of their size.”
Benefits
Explains Dan, “Our application of FormArtist is probably quite unique. We are not using it to solicit feedback on our products (although we may do so in the future). We are a software solutions firm, and one of our strengths is business intelligence and project management.
FormArtist allows us to professionally reach out to our client's business users and subject matter experts to help engage them in our projects and software development activities. Many business users have little time for requirements gathering meetings, however it is critical for any software development project to engage business users throughout the project lifecycle. FormArtist provides us with a vehicle to reach out to them and solicit information from them in their own time, and do so with a tool that they enjoy interacting with.”
In addition, they find the data is easily gathered and imported into their desktop tools for data manipulation, and their users enjoy working with FormArtist as it allows them to get the job done quickly.
Future
Looking ahead Dan says, “We hope to make FormArtist a prominent component of our requirements gathering practices. We may also look to employ FormArtist to follow-up with our clients and solicit their feedback on our services.”
