Situation
My role is to apply software technology to business situations and as such I am always looking to take value for money off-the-shelf solutions and solve a specific problem. Quask FormArtist allows me to address 2 very common requirements of our customers – Surveys and Web Forms. I am regularly asked to collect satisfaction data and the Internet is the obvious way to do this as the actual data collection cost is zero. Corporate websites usually have several locations where they need to collect data from a visitor and feed this back to back-end systems. This consumes developer resource and mostly leads to an inflexible solution.
Key Issues
I need to be able to turn projects around very quickly and under pressure from the customer. Often, relatively low budgets are assigned to surveys and so tailored solutions are out of the question. Quask FormArtist allows us to put surveys and forms together in an incredibly short time and there is no HTML coding needed. All aspects of deployment are taken care by the software.
Another key point is how to get the person to respond to the survey. Usually surveys are so boring that the response rate suffers. FormArtist forms look so good that we felt that this issue could be well addressed.
Implementation
As FormArtist is a standard piece of desktop software there is very little to do. If you have some basic design skills you can produce amazing forms very quickly. Also, because there is no database needed on the web server, the deployment of forms could not be simpler.
Result
We have now run many surveys and implemented many web forms using Quask FormArtist and we now recommend surveys to our customers as a matter of course. It really is a unique way of gathering vital data about customers. As a result of surveys, we have changed many business processes and product offerings.
